Here at Puriri Downs, we pride ourselves on producing healthy, great tasting pasture grazed eggs from our free range hens. Our hens have the freedom to roam outdoors on the contoured hills of Pohuehue to graze on fresh grass and search for bugs and beetles to supplement their crumble. We are dedicated to providing the best possible environment and welfare for our hens and this commitment sits at the heart of everything we do.

We often hear from our customers just how fresh and tasty our eggs are. We believe this is due to the high standards we adhere to and our free-range philosophy.
Our eggs are produced under the regulations of New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries, which means they are produced to one of the highest standards of quality and food safety in the world. As a free-range farm, our hens have access to high quality housing providing them with shelter from inclement weather and offering protection at night. During the day, our hens range freely outdoors. The outdoor ranging area is comprised of a mixture of surfaces – from dust baths to grass – with shelter provided by trees. |
